Massapequa Park residents are among the best informed of any community. A broad program of communications has been developed, and is constantly being expanded, to deliver important information to residents about Village government activities as well as matters that will impact the community. In addition to this On-Line Resident Handbook (a printed version of the Resident Handbook may be obtained from Village Hall), the Village has many other means of communication. These are:
- A quarterly newsletter, "Voice of the Village," which is delivered by mail to each house in the Village and made available in Village stores.
- News releases are provided to local weekly newspapers, the Massapequa Post and the Massapequan Observer.
- Special announcements and special events are announced with street banners in the business district.
- Village Board meeting notices are posted at Village Hall, the LIRR station, on Park Ave. opposite Taylor Ave., on Park Ave. at Glengariff Road and in the Post Offices.
- Recorded messages are put on the Village Hall telephone (798-0244) system for after-hours callers. Included are messages of special events, or emergencies. Resident messages left on the answering system will be returned the next business day if required.
- Board meetings and public hearings are conducted in the evening so that the public is kept aware of Village activities and the Board can get input from residents on issues before the Board.
