The Incorporated Village of Massapequa Park is proud to announce the Independence Day activities taking place in its Village.
On Saturday, June 28th, the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 15 will host Irish Night in Brady Park from 8:00pm-10:00pm. Bring your chairs and be treated to great entertainment. Refreshments and Irish memorabilia will be on sale.
On Friday, July 4th, the Village of Massapequa Park will sponsor its annual Independence Day Parade beginning at 11:00 am. The parade will begin at Lake Shore Drive and Walker Street and travel south on Park Boulevard at Front Street. Trophies will be awarded for the Best Appearing Color Guard, Best Appearing Marching Units, 1st and 2nd Place Music Groups, Best Float and Best Overall Unit. This parade promises to be the highlight of your weekend.
On Sunday, July 6th, there will be Breakfast at Brady Park from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Come enjoy breakfast with your friends in beautiful Brady Park. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for children.
On Sunday, July 6th, the Massapequa Roadrunners Club will sponsor their 28th Annual Firecracker 5K Run. The race will begin promptly at 5:00 pm on Park Boulevard just north of Clark Boulevard in Massapequa Park. Awards will be given for the first male and female finishers from Massapequa Park, plus others. For those runners 10 and under, there will be a ¼ mile race beginning at 4:00 pm. You can register to run by contacting the Massapequa Roadrunners Club or stop in Village Hall for an application. There will be post-race refreshments and raffles.

Mayor James Altadonna and the Board of Trustees recently thanked the volunteers of Massapequa Cares and Earth Day. Each year community members volunteer their time in organizing and helping to make Massapequa Cares and Earth Day successful events.

Sgt. Peter F. Colleran Post #7763 Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post #1066 are once again jointly conducting the Memorial Day Parade and Service in the Massapequas.
The date is Monday, May 26, 2008 and the starting time is 10:00 am sharp. Line up time is 9:30am. The parade route begins at Broadway and Commonwealth Avenue in Massapequa; moves south on Broadway, east on Clark Boulevard to Park Boulevard, where it will be reviewed, proceed to Front Street, and travel west to Brady Park, where a Memorial Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony will take place.

Deputy Mayor Joseph Pinto was presented with a commemorative baseball bat from the Massapequa International Little League Organization, in recognition of his 25 years of coaching.
